CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR’S MESSAGE FROM SIMBA MAKONI INTERIM PESIDENT OF MAVAMBO.KUSILE.DAWN (M.K.D) PARTY
24th DECEMBER 2011

It is that time of the year again when we must reflect on the experiences of a passing year, this time 2011, whilst at the same time setting goals and making resolutions for the coming year.
For the large majority of Zimbabweans, 2011 was as difficult as 2010. We are into year three (3) since consummation of the so-called Inclusive Government (IG), but Zimbabweans have yet to realise the positive changes promised by this marriage of convenience.

M.K.D Mourns the Death of a True National Hero |

Mavambo.Kusile.Dawn (M.K.D) Interim President, Simba Makoni, on behalf of M.K.D, the whole Zimbabwe nation and his own behalf would like to extend his heartfelt condolences to the Tekere family on the untimely death of a true National Hero, Edgar Zivanai Tekere -Two Boy.
The country has lost a genuine nationalist who was fearless, selfless, disciplined, highly principled, incorruptible and a legend in his life whose efforts towards achieving a better Zimbabwe for all will forever be cherished.
M.K.D applauds the formation of Zimbabwe Unity Movement (ZUM) under Tekere’s leadership, which marked the first step in the as yet unfinished long journey to genuine plural politics and multi party democracy in Zimbabwe.
During the March 2008 harmonised elections, Twoboy was one of only very few national political heavyweights who stood solidly in support of Simba Makoni’s Independent candidacy for President. We are forever grateful for this patriotic stance from a humble man who was tireless in his quest for democracy.
The late Tekere’s life was a struggle as depicted by the title of his book, ‘The Struggle is my Life’. He lived true to one of his principles of being incorruptible till his sad passing away. Indeed, a giant has fallen. Go well Two Boy and we hope you have finally found peace.
May your dear departed soul rest in eternal peace.

Zimbabwe Inclusive Government (IG) Should Treat Civil Servants with Dignity |
Mavambo.Kusile.Dawn (M.K.D), the Party of Choice, is deeply concerned about an open display of insincerity and insensitivity to the grievances of civil servants by Political Party leaders in Zimbabwe’s Inclusive Government (IG).
It is almost two and a half years (2 ½) years since formation of the Inclusive Government (IG), but sad to note that the period has seen the country’s dedicated Civil Servants receive one empty promise after the other. Civil Servants have virtually been stripped of their dignity by shameless Politicians making up the IG, who are not appreciating the positive contribution from this hardworking and very patient group.

Zimbabwe Situation Desperate |
Zimbabwe, once a beautiful nation and the envy of many has gone to the ruins. There is a lot of frustration amongst the people. Millions have since left the country and everything is in topsy-turvy. Most of the people’s frustrations are justifiable to some extent.
We strongly feel when God, the Almighty granted us this nation, he was looking forward to a brighter Zimbabwe of equity, justice and transparency. It is unfair to many of our brothers and sisters who perished for this worthy cause. They did not envision a country where all our neighbours and international community would isolate us. Neither did they fight for a country where one black man would kill another black man or woman. This country had all the chance after gaining independence on 18 April 1980 to do a fair and transparent land redistribution exercise, achieving genuine national healing and reconciliation and becoming an economic powerhouse within the African continent. But today we are the laughing stock of the whole world.

M.K.D Position on Roadmap for Elections |
Mavambo.Kusile.Dawn (M.K.D) applauds SADC Troika for its stance on what has to be instituted to create the environment conducive for credible, free and fair elections. This frank talk came a bit late than expected but as a party we are very confident that it is the first step in the right direction. We are very optimistic that while the decisions at Livingstone, Zambia were taken by an organ of the regional body, the summit which is to be held soon will adopt the resolutions and push for their immediate implementation and save the country from further political implosion of the magnitude of the 2007 – 2008 period. What we are particularly impressed with, as a party, is the stance to stop Mugabe from forging ahead with plans to hold the elections before major reforms were put in place.

Diasporans Can Still Contribute in Rebuilding Zimbabwe from Anywhere |
26 April 2011 Listening to both ZANU PF and MDC-T politicians speak on the topical issue of Diasporans, one is left dumbfounded on how the two (2) political parties have found common ground in advancing the argument that Diasporans the world over can make a significant contribution in rebuilding the country only when they are in Zimbabwe and nowhere else. With the world fastly turning into a global village, thanks to technological advancements, this piece seeks to interrogate if Diasporans cannot do a wonderful job, as they have always done from whichever station around the globe?
